B–Coder offers several barcode programs, we looked at B–Coder Lite which is intended for those who can satisfy their barcode needs by generating barcodes one at a time as opposed to automated generation. However, B–Coder recommends their Pro version as the more flexible and capable program.
B–Coder Lite can create Code 39, UPC A & E, EAN 8 & 13, Bookland, Interleaved 2 of 5 and Postnet barcodes. If you need Code 128s you have to purchase their Pro version.
With B–Coder Lite you an easily copy barcodes and paste them into other programs for label creation. However, on their website they mention that the Lite version does not transfer barcodes into Word and Access as directly as the Pro version does. Generated barcodes can be saved in wmf, eps, tif, gif or ai formats. B–Coder works with Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.
This program offers numerous barcode options but few actual label options. You can customize barcode color, background color, orientation, text and font choices. But the barcodes are meant to be pasted into other programs to create and print labels.
We found this program fairly easy to use but we would like B–Coder Lite to be able to copy and paste as well as B–Coder Pro.
B–Coder provides free technical support by telephone and email. Online TALtech posts FAQs, a searchable knowledgebase and product manuals. They answered our email inquires in a timely manner.
B–Coder is fairly easy to use and has good barcode customization tools and may be a suitable choice for companies with a good label maker and a low demand for barcodes.
